THANK YOU

Thank you, SHOWstudio for joining me this week in the exploration and celebration of the feminine. I am so honored to have been able to curate and contribute during a time that coincides with movements such as #YESALLWOMEN.

Thank you Nick Knight and thank you Rei for giving me this opportunity.
I am forever grateful.

My final mantra: know in times of trouble, you are not alone.

MANTRAS FROM THIS WEEK

I AM BECOMING THAT WHICH I AM MEANT TO BECOME

"NOT YOURS, NEVER WAS”

EMPOWERMENT THROUGH WIT AND SEDUCTION

YOU CAN’T CHANGE PEOPLE AND IT’S RUDE TO TRY

YOU’RE OKAY YOU’VE ALWAYS BEEN

I AM ALLOWED TO LEAVE THE PERSON WHO HURT ME

HER SUCCESS IS NOT YOUR FAILURE

I AM GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME

I WILL RESPECT MY LOVER’S BOUNDARIES AS THEY WILL RESPECT MINE

I WILL NOT BE PRESSURED INTO DOING THAT WHICH MAKES ME FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE

THIS SADNESS WILL NOT LAST FOREVER

I WILL NOT DO THINGS THAT I KNOW WILL MAKE ME SAD

I AM MY OWN SOUL MATE

I WANT TO BE PAMPERED BECAUSE I WANT TO BE PAMPERED NOT BECAUSE I AM A WOMAN

I AM MY OWN SEX SYMBOL

I DO IT BECAUSE I LIKE IT

I WILL HEAL

MY BODY IS SACRED AND I WILL CELEBRATE IT HOW I SEE FIT

I FORGIVE MYSELF SO I AM OPEN TO FORGIVING OTHERS

I BELONG TO ME

“I am too intelligent, too demanding, and too resourceful for anyone to be able to take charge of me entirely. No one knows me or loves me completely. I have only myself”

//vanessa omoregie's cam-girl project

"CamGirls was an investigative project that explored the female image within the online space.

The project throughout its course looked at themes of questioning “beauty” standards, ideas of censorship, and representation in art.
It was an interactive piece starting with the instruction “copy this pose”, allowing people across the internet to re-create women portrayed in famous paintings. The project asked questions about why the internet in regards to art isn’t taken as seriously and why important cultural phenomena like selfies are kind of mocked by the media, especially when they involves women.

I wanted to look at who the “online girl” is and how her image is perceived through the lens of cyber-space.”
